The higher you climb, the more at peace you become! Enjoy the views from Walker Top Mtn. which is approximately 2,830 feet above sea level and surrounded by over 20,000 acres of South Mountain State Park. Our retreat is located on 2.5 private acres in a gated community.
Nature is everywhere you look, from flora and wilderness, to wildlife.
Our home features: 3BR/2.5BA, with upper and lower living levels as well as indoor and outdoor dining and seating options to take in all the views!
The main level great room has a wall of windows that overlook the South Mountains and an open design to the kitchen and dining area, along with a half bath, and master bedroom with king bed and master bath. Both the great room and master bedroom have doors that open to the upper deck.
The lower level has a family game room with foosball and TV, a bedroom with a queen bed, and another bedroom with a queen bed and 2 bunks in the wall. There is a full bath on this level also, along with the laundry room.
The outdoor entertaining areas include the upper deck on the back off the great room and master bedroom, the covered screened porch which is accessible from the kitchen and the upper deck. There is also a patio area next to the screen porch which offers an exterior gas fireplace. This space is also ideal for using the gas grill because it is next to the porch and kitchen entrance.
There is a lower patio area that is covered by the above deck that can be accessed by the lower den.
We do offer WIFI and smart TVs. Both owners have worked from home so internet access is not an issue here. For more specific details on our retreat, click on amenities and room details.
We are also very close to one of the main wedding venues in this area, so just ask us about accommodations for coordinating events.
Wildlife to enjoy: deer, turkey, bear, raccoons, and the usual rabbits and squirrels. The wildlife is used to coming pretty close, so please use caution and do not approach any of the animals. We have a system for using the gas grill and putting away the trash, so please be sure to follow the directions left for you and enjoy a view from a safe distance.
We are conveniently located midway between Charlotte and Asheville, just off I-40. Drive time is 20 minutes from I-40. We are located at the top of a mountain and do recommend 4x4 vehicles in winter months, typically Dec-mid March. Cancellations can only be made for road closures.
