Bosques del Lago is a sweet, friendly, walkable and quiet neighborhood of unique homes, with a mix of year round residents and rentals. There are security cameras throughout, and the neighbors care well for this lovely area. A car is necessary to visit neighboring towns. The city bus passes the neighborhood multiple times each day and offers an inexpensive option for exploring. The town of Carrillo is ~1/2 mile from Tres Corazones where you will find fresh pastries and exceptional coffee at Café Karäna, fruits, veggies, and more at Verdulería, a pharmacy, a few stores for general items, and a hand full of restaurants, including typical Costa Rican food at Soda La Plaza. It is not as busy a town as our neighbor, Sámara, but you can find everything you need in Puerto Carrillo.
