Sprawling 2000 sq ft 4 bed 2.5 bath waterfront luxury ranch style home that sleeps up to 11 and all on a wide channel leading to famous all-sports 2680 acre Gun Lake, the largest inland lake in West Michigan. This Gun Lake neighborhood home is the perfect quiet vacation getaway and great place make memories!
All you need to bring are your food, clothing and personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver, etc), fishing gear if you fish, a boat if you have a boat or plan on renting one on the lake, and you're good to go!
Gun Lake is extremely popular for competition fishing, pleasure boating, skiing, tubing, and swimming off the small beach we have at the house in the extra wide channel or off a boat or at one of the public beaches on the lake. There is a large yard, private deck as well as a private dock to enjoy the quiet waterfront lifestyle relaxing on the deck or on the boardwalk watching the fish and ducks. If staying in the warm months, you can use the kayaks, paddleboards, or moor a boat at the dock as there are both cleats and bumpers ready for you in the extra wide channel.
The living room boasts cathedral ceilings and is spacious and opens up to the dining area/Kitchen. The kitchen features all new top of the line stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops, breakfast bar with stools, and dining area. The kitchen is stocked with almost anything at your own home, from the waffle maker to the griddle for pancakes, to the coffee maker, to silverware and all the plates and cups and other utensils and such you would expect..
There are 3 bedrooms that have king size beds and also each have a dresser, night stand, lamp, flat screen smart TV's, new carpeting. closet and ceiling fan for relaxing on vacation. The 4th bedroom/family room is off the kitchen and features not just a bunk bed but also a twin size bed, and a queen size hide-a-bed couch and a Roku TV.
The large deck is great for relaxing in the shade as it is on the N side of the house away from the sun and even has a natural gas grill for making burgers or sizzling up some steaks or fish and enjoying the relaxing waterfront neighborhood atmosphere.
There is Charter Spectrum high speed Wi-Fi so you can watch streaming movies or TV shows or get work done while everyone is out on the lake in the warm months or while skiing or ice fishing in the winter.
For Spring/Summer/Fall guests there are 2 paddle boards, 2 one person kayaks and a 2 person canoe that are by the beach area awaiting captains! There is also a fire pit area great for cooking hot dogs and marshmallows.
For winter guests the ice is great for skating and ice fishing, just make sure it is solid and take all necessary precautions like wearing a provided life vest over your coat and don't ever do it alone just to ensure safety. For those planning to ski at one of the nearby ski resorts, just know that by car Bittersweet Ski Resort is only 22 miles or 28 minutes away, and Timber Ridge is only 26 miles or 34 minutes away. As long as the nights are below freezing these resorts make their own snow and usually are open and everyone has a great time.
Remember this is a grandfathered and registered short term rental in an area where unregistered properties are not allowed to be rented short term. As such there are rules associated with all short term rentals that must be followed at all times. Some of the primary ones are that there can be no barking dogs, so if you are bringing a dog, if it is known to bark make sure you use a shock collar and definitely in a cage if leaving alone. Also there cannot ever be more than three vehicles at the property at any time including inside the garage. There must also not be any trash showing outside of the bin that is provided. There’s also a strict 11 PM curfew for the entire lake including the campground so no outdoor talking or bonfires or that kind of thing after 11 PM. These are obviously simple rules to follow and there is a list of them as well but these are the most important.
The washer and dryer are there for you to use as well as detergent and fabric softener, so no need to ever visit a laundromat while staying here and you don't need to bring cleaning supplies. We also have everything like washcloths, body shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. We also have a new Keurig machine which also has a regular coffee maker in it so if you plan to use the Keurig feature just bring the K cups with you :-)
